Discipline & Attendance Procedures

All summer school students are expected to attend assigned classes on time, work conscientiously, and exhibit good school citizenship.  Students who are displaying inappropriate behavior may be sent to the discipline office and issued a disciplinary consequence.  The consequence for repeated or gross misconduct will result in a student being removed from the summer school program.

Teachers can submit a discipline referral either online through an Infinite Campus Behavior Referral, or manually with a Discipline Referral Sheet.

All summer school students will be orientated to the rules and expectations of summer school the first and second day of each semester.  Teachers will present students with this information through the school’s Rules & Regulations PowerPoint. Additionally, an administrator will summarize the rules and regulations over the Public Announcement system the second day after the last break.

Daily attendance to summer school is vital to student’s success.  Students who miss mandatory days or obtain the maximum number of absences in courses as outlined in the Summer School Drop Sheet will be removed from the summer school program.  A tardy of one hour or less is recorded as one-half day of absence; more than one hour equals a full day.
