Title One Interventions

History of Title I

Title one is federal funding given to schools based on low income populations.  It is a program targeted at students who have a history of not meeting or exceeding grade level expectations in Math and English.  Here at PHS we have found success for students who were targeted and being moved up to a higher level.  At PHS, we are no longer a targeted program, therefore all of our students qualify for support, but we have to prioritize funds for our tier 2 and tier 3 students.

Title I Resources

Title I offers a wide variety of resources to staff, students, and PHS families.  Some of these resources include staff development opportunities (conferences, workshops, and books), help with classroom/school supplies, classroom celebrations, social-emotional support, individual/group counseling, home visits, prom dress drive, food drive, assistance with Ray Mills applications, financial resourcing for students and families, and parent meetings and phone calls.
